What The Sims FreePlay is and who it suits
The Sims™ FreePlay is a mobile life simulation game in the Simulation category, rated 18+ on Google Play. You start with a small town and expand it while looking after a household of Sims who age from babies to seniors.
It suits people who already know the Sims series and want an ongoing game to play on a phone. The game needs a network connection to play.
Building homes and expanding the town
You customize how each Sim looks and design their homes, including swimming pools, multiple floors and decor. Interior design is most of the building work, and you can also furnish rooms and make the house your own style.
As you add Sims, you can unlock new town buildings: a pet store, a car dealership, a shopping mall and a private villa beach. Completing goals earns Simoleons, the in-game currency, plus rewards that you can spend on the next stage of the town.
Relationships, families and daily life
Sims can start relationships, fall in love, get married, have children and care for pets. Daily activities include pool parties, grilling outside, and movie night by the fireplace.
Drama is part of the design. Sims who do not get along can fight, teens can act out, and a Sim can turn down a marriage proposal. You decide how each storyline goes.
Careers, skills and hobbies
Sims can take up dream careers, and you can follow their shifts at the police station, movie studio and hospital. Going to work builds skills and raises salary, which gives rewards and moves them up.
In their free time Sims can pick up hobbies such as cooking, fashion design, salsa dancing and puppy training. The more involved a Sim is in their hobbies, the happier they are, whether they are kids, teens or adults.
Visiting friends and paying for items
You can visit the Sim Towns of friends and compare your interior design skills against theirs. Visiting is one of the ways the game links up with other players.
The game is free to play. Optional purchases of virtual currency can be used to buy virtual items, including a random selection of items, and these charge your Google account. Ads appear in the game, and you can turn off in-app purchasing in your device settings.
