LEGO® DUPLO® Trains

A companion for DUPLO Interactive Trains playsets

LEGO® DUPLO® Trains is an optional companion app from LEGO System A/S for the LEGO DUPLO Interactive Trains playsets. It is aimed at young children, and it works with the special purple Action Brick that comes in those playsets.

The listing says the app is always free to play.

Driving the train and running its lights

The main function is remote control. A child can drive the train from the app, and with the purple Action Brick the app also operates the playset's lights. Both depend on owning a compatible playset.

Recording a voice and customising train sounds

The app lets a child record their own voice. It also offers sound presets that change how the train sounds.

Both features are listed as part of the playset experience, so they are tied to the same hardware as the remote control.

Rebuilding ideas and video guidance

The app collects trainloads of rebuilding ideas, with video guidance showing how to build them. It also includes extended-functionality features for the LEGO DUPLO Interactive Trains playsets, which the developer presents as a way to get more out of the sets.

Skills the developer says play builds

The developer says the activities support creative problem-solving, patience, prediction, hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. It also lists emotional control, focus, and fine and gross motor skills among the areas the playsets and app are meant to support.

These are the developer's claims about the activities, not outcomes APKCube has measured.
