Forms and signatures inside the app
Simple Design Ltd. has added a Fill & Sign tool to Document Reader - PDF Editor, its Android file viewer. The developer's release notes say it lets people complete PDF forms and add text, signatures, dates and common form symbols. That means paperwork that comes as a PDF can be finished and signed on the phone, without opening a second app.
The same update adds a reflow mode. According to the developer, it rearranges a PDF's text and lets the reader change the font size, which matters on a small screen when a page was laid out for print. The changes come in version 1.3.3.
Locked Office files now open
The update also lets the app open encrypted documents. The developer says users can enter a password to view protected Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TXT files, as well as some other formats. The notes also list a reworked "Add text" tool: text added to a document can now be edited afterwards. The rest is general fixes.
